There’s Always Plenty To Do At Melangata Station

Relax and do nothing, or join in one of our activities.
It’s completely up to you!

The ideal amount of time to spend at Melangata Station, according to our guests, is 3-4 nights so you can incorporate some or all of the tours on offer. There is a network of bush walks and push bike trails that originate from the homestead or campground. Just ask for a map on arrival.

Historic Homestead Tour

Join Station owner, Jo Clews for a fascinating tour of the historical Homestead building.  Learn the story of the original family who commissioned the building, the renowned architect – Monsignor John Hawes, and the boom and bust pastoral history of the Station.  A delightful country-styled morning tea will be served in the Homestead gardens. The Melangata Homestead Tour is open to all visitors to the Yalgoo area, however priority is given to Melangata Station guests, so we encourage you to book ahead.

Places to go Walga rock

Full moon sundowner. Dark sky satellite and constellation spotter.

Provided the weather is good we will head out at about 4-4.30pm to a special spot on a granite outcrop or to our beautiful Dalgaranga Hill/Toms lookout to watch the sun go down and the moon come up. Other sundowner experiences can be arranged outside of the full moon time and we highly recommend a dark sky satellite and constellation experience when there is a new moon. Bring your chair, torch, warm clothing, nibbles or dinner, hot or cold beverage and a pair of binoculars as well as your camera.

$30.00 per person.
